 Dec 6th '04 @ Carling Academy Islington... I do it MAD STYLE So, went to see the Mad Capsule Markets at the Academy last night. Those Jap guys blew the fucking place down... crowd was pretty heaving at about 250-300. Mate and myself got to the door pretty darn early and booked ourselves a spot standing right at the very front.  *Obligatory 'I'm stuck in a queue so I'll just look a twat and hail the Dark Lord' pic* Me contemplating using the ladies toilet because the gents was locked due to 'misuse'... fuckin skagheads. Oh look and there's one of my mates to the right! Evidence that I do indeed have some friends.  Waited and waited and waited for nearly 90mins INSIDE the building... finally the support band (the excellent up-n-comers McQueen) made it to the stage - four great lasses from Brighton... thats in England. Yup.  Ahh Leah Duors ... their lead vocalist. Total babe and fuck yes she can rock like most could only dream of. I had a Wayne/Cassandra moment the second she came on stage... y'know the slow mo... 'Dream Weaver' by Gary Wright playing in the background.  At this point a "GET YER TITS OUT!" chant broke out... Miss Duors said only if a guy from the crowd got on the stage and got his cock out. Rock n' roll... alas no guy did. Moving onto the main event (yet more waiting) and I forfeited my front row spot (come to think of it the moshers had pushed us back long before, anyway) and headed to the bar and get a few brews in. Made my way back into the pit for the beginning of the Mad Caps... didn't last long as the mosher population further proved they are simply a prize bunch of cnuts. Pushed our way back out the crowd, hitting a few on the way, and retired to the bar where the view was still damn good and the drinks were aplenty.   The techno punk-metal ninjas in person.. and the quality of the above pic pretty much reflected my eyesight at that point of the night. Got out earlier then expected, hit the merch stand and bought up a couple of shirts. Took forever to get through the queue for the cloakroom so we sneaked out a side door WENT HOME!  SLEPT! Great night all round and I look forward to seeing Muse on the 20th.
