Origin: In 1998 the man who would later be known as Jonathan Blackwych and Nightfall graduated from Collage as a fully qualified Engineer and joined the USC Marine Corps. He completed his training and was assigned to a unit just outside New Amsterdam. While waiting for action he signed up for a special forces training program. What happened next is hazy at best as Blackwych refuses to speak about what happened to him in the program, but needless to say he fled the program and the USCMC. After a year or so of constant wandering eh returned to to New Amsterdam and took up residence in the mob and crime infested Devil's Playground neighbourhood.

One night as Blackwych returned from his day job as a television and radio repairman, he came home to find one of his neighbours under attack from some Mafia goons, Blackwych quickly disposed to the goons, going as far as snapping the neck of one of them and killing the other by caving his skull in. As he turned to the victim of the attack he found the young woman to be dead, killed before he could save her. That night, he swore an oath on the dead body of his neighbour that he would stalk the neighbourhood, become the night haunter of Devil's Playground. After a night and a day of frantic building tools and creating a suit for himself, Devil's playground's Dark Protector took to streets.
Nightfall as been the protector of Devil's playground for a number of years now, he has earned the respect of the locals and the fear and hate of the criminals he disposes of. He refuses to work with the corrput local police, and instead either deals with the "perps" on his own or drops them off by one of the stations of the other police districts.
Nightfall is just like all other transhumans unlike Captain Paragon, un-licensed. Because of this he harbours a deep disrespect for the Captain. As his actions made headlines the newspapers gave him a nickname or a title that he has taken to with glee, they call him "The Demon of Devil's Playground."
As of the writing of this, he is yet to face a Transhuman treat to Devil's Playground, but every night he keep a look out as Devil's Playground as a safe haven from the wars of the Transhumans is numbered.


Personality: Nightfall is gruff, violent, shows no mercy and speaks in short sentences that make the person he speaks to understand that talking isn't what he is about. Unlike some other night vigilantes, Nightfall has no qualms about killing an opponent if he has no other choice, but he is far from a psychotic killer, rather he is a coldly rational human being who always looks out for "his" people aka the law-abiding citizen's of new Amsterdam in general and of Devil's Playground in particular.

Jonathan Blackwych is the direct opposite of Nightfall, he is open, talkative and generally a nice guy. He is reluctant to start relationships as his nights are devoted to Nightfall. Blackwych is also a brilliant engineer and has created a arsenal of weapons for use as Nightfall. Blackwych works in a small shop that repair's electronic devices.

Equipment and weaponry: Nightfall's main weapon is a length of chain with a lead weight at one end. He uses this both in combat and as a means to transporting himself by swinging from roof top to roof top. His belt is filled with a series of grenades and equipment. He creates these tools and grenades himself.
