Post The Destruction of Comic Dimensions
The Plot:The year: 2006. The universe is plunged into chaos as the dimensional barrier collapses. All planes of reality converge on a single one. New alliances are forged, old ones are broken. Rivals become allies, friends become enemies and survival becomes paramount. The world is torn asunder as superbeings clamor for power. Heroes band together to salvage what they can and protect what humans are left. Continents become refuge or prison for powerful entities anxious to establish their superiority.

The Ocean, much like the surface, is a mess. Namor, the Marvel ruler of Atlantis, struggles to maintain the oceans. Help comes his way when Aquaman, the ruler of the oceans in the DC universe, comes to his aid. Together, along with several allies and even old enemies, they maintain the balance and protect the oceans from the surface world.

Namor elects to protect the Eastern Hemisphere and Aquaman protects the Western Hemisphere. The mutual capital is called New Atlantis. It lies at the bottom of the deepest trench in the ocean, off the coast of Guam. The city is a massive metropolis, a haven for any aquatic being that seeks refuge from the violence present on the surface. Art, science and warfare are studied and advanced with startling discoveries.

A tentative truce between New Atlantis and the surface is established. New Atlantis will not become involved in the affairs of the surface provided they are left alone. Should anyone commit an act of violence against New Atlantis or any of its citizens, then the full might of the New Atlantean army will wipe the surface clean.

Awakened by the upheaval throughout the world, Apocalypse rises once again. Seeing the state of the world, he seizes the opportunity to gather an army about him. With the help of several scientists, he begins experimenting with willing- and unwilling- subjects. His goal is to create an army of superbeings with which to test what is left of humanity.

Apocalypse seizes the Savage Land as his place of operations. Relatively unnoticed by the rest of the world at first, he is able to amass a huge military force, led by his new Horsemen. All eyes cast wary glances at the bottom of the earth, wondering at what point Apocalypse will choose to strike.

Finding the current state of humanity distasteful, several artificial beings choose to leave the planet, venturing to the Earth's moon and establishing a massive empire. There, the machines evolve and experiment, gaining greater and greater knowledge of the universe around them.

The appeal of living with their own kind, away from the chaos present on the earth, attracts even those who are often at odds with the robotic leaders. This includes the Metal Men, whose numbers were decimated in the days following the dimensional collapse. A vast empire is formed, one that rivals the power of the earth's factions.

Despite several attempts from some robotic beings in the past to conquer earth, all artificial beings present choose a neutral approach, instead studying events as they transpire.

The robots are both ruled and protected by Master Mold, who was able to be rebuilt unnoticed. An army of sentinels and Manhunter robots is at Master Mold's command, powerful enough to repel an attack from the earth should it ever come their way.

The continent of South America has been torn apart. The denizens of Apokolips were sent hurtling toward the earth as their planet was destroyed by the massive shockwave that ripped throughout the cosmos.

There, they aligned with the survivors of the Negative Zone and several other beings displaced from the cosmos. An alliance was forged between the two once great forces.

Brazil, Columbia and everything north became the empire of Annihilus. Everything south of there was the home of Darkseid and the survivors of Apokolips.

Even worse than South America is what has befallen Africa. When the dimensions collapsed, all Hell dimensions descended upon the Earth. The demonic denizens claimed the Dark Continent as their own.

They laid waste to the continent and continuously threaten to spread outward. Only those protecting the surrounding area protect the planet from their growing threat. Only Egypt remains free of hellish control. It is the haven of those who seek to stop the spread of evil. The last stand of those remaining from Africa and those of magical power sufficient to fight back the occult energies.

The ruler of Africa is Mephisto. He resides at the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, keeping a perpetual eye on the goings on of his top lieutenants. Treachery runs rampant in Hell and distrust of each other is the one thing that keeps the armies of the Hell dimensions from aligning long enough to cover the earth in perpetual darkness.

The Egyptian Coalitian, which also covers the Middle East, represents the only "free" area within the African continent. It is the last haven for those wishing to stop the forces of Mephisto from spreading beyond the borders. All of those that were able to escape the initial invasion joined together here. Even those who did not fight for good had no choice, but to seek refuge with their former enemies.
