So the only two movies coming out around here are Dark Water and The Fantastic Four. Are any of you planning on seeing either of those? I'm probably going to check out Fantastic Four tonight, but I don't know if I'll bother with Dark Water. Something about spooky water just seems lame to me.

I saw the Fantastic Four last night for free.. (not sure why felt compelled to say it was free)

its pretty good.. but Batman Begins blows it out of the water.. in my opinion...

and it took a good forty minutes before I realized Jessica Alba's super power was something other then "God You're Hot"

and yes, I kept waiting for Mr. Fantastic to tap her on the shoulder with his dong and then wrap it around her neck...

LOL! I'm hoping they come out with the porno version, entitled Fantastic Whore, where they actually do that. :D

It was good though? Where would you rank it among comic movies? Less than Batman, but would you place it around Spider-Man? Blade? Punisher?

This week's movies coming out include:

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: I'll probably go see this. I like Depp although I think he looks freeee-kay in this movie. Tim Burton should live on the edge though and try directing something that wasn't dreamed up in a mushroom-induced haze.

Wedding Crashers: Let me see. I hate Owen Wilson. The guy needs some plastic surgery on his nose, stat. I hate Vince Vaughn even more. Nope, I'll be leaving this one alone.

and Happy Endings: This one is opening in limited release. Supposedly, you get to see Lisa Kudrow naked! :o Of course, I never wanted to see her naked as I think she resembles a stork, so I'll probably avoid this one, too.

Are any of you planning on watching any of these?

I love Vince Vaughan (in a completely straight way). The guy does the same character over and over, but I find the character hilarious personally. I'll probably see Wedding Crashers and Chuck and the Choc at some point, not sure if it will be this weekend.

Friday's movies coming out include:

Murderball: It sounds like a horror movie about a futuristic sport, but in reality, this is a documentary that got a lot of praise at Sundance. It follows the exploits of the American Wheelchair Rugby Team.

Hustle and Flow: The heartfelt story of a pimp that decides to become a rap star. Also known as Matt's Biographical Feature :afroking:

The Island: On one hand, it's a Michael Bay flick, which means it will be short on plot and big on explosions. On the other hand, it has Scarlett Johansson who makes me happy in the crothchal region.

The Devil's Rejects: As we all know, any movie with Rob Zombie directing is an instant classic. By classic, I mean: waste of time. A sheriff hunts down a crazy family that likes to kill people for shits and giggles. There's your plot. A lot of killing, a lot of kinky stuff and a lot of ugly people.

Bad News Bears: Holy crap! A remake!? Unheard of!

Any plans to see any of these?

I should be seeing the Island tonight my mother got passes to a screening.

Bad News Bears
I saw this the first two times it came out
Bad News Bears and of course Bad Santa
Decent enough to enjoy once but I really don't need to see it again.

Hustle and Flow
I WILL see this at some point I can't see paying Theatre money for a movie without effects. I LKE movies with plot but I usually only see movies in theatres if the theatre experienc adds to the movie. This one has critics respect and it looks like a decent film, and of course I'm a Black man thata likes and repects hip hop so I'll see it at some point.

Murderball
I'm not dating a girl into this kind of thing right no and THAT is the only way I'd watch a volleyball movie. Oh wait it's about rugby..... Oh well considering my longtime association with Pittsburgh Pothole Pigeons rugby team maybe I can find a place in my heart for it. Oh wait THAT WAS B.S. No WAY am I seeing this thing.

The Devils Rejects

A Rob Zombie film.

What wasn't Troma hiring? No Troma films at least KNOW that they are shlock. We really neeed more shake camera action wth dingy people jumping round and acting out on the 'Freedom" of insanity. I gues if the Joker were a director he'd make Rob Zombie films

Movie Premieres July 29th:

Stealth: Actually, this opened in most theaters yesterday, but close enough. Anyway, it's the thrilling story of three perfect physical specimens fighting Hal 9000 in a world where physics apparently doesn't apply.

Sky High: What do you get when you combine Kurt Russell AND super powers!? Crap, that's what.

Happily Ever After: Having nothing to do with Drew Barrymore's Cinderella story, this is about French people and adultery. Isn't that pretty much the same thing?

Must Love Dogs: Loving dogs myself, I was interested until, after seeing previews and reading reviews, this movie is apparently just like EVERY other "woman tries to find love and meets quirky man who tries not to, but falls for her at the end" movie. I love dogs, but I'm not so sure about this flick.

The Warrior: The story of the chief muscle of a warlord who lays down his sword and subsequently pisses off said warlord. It's supposed to be fairly well-written and acted.

The bottom line is that the movies coming out this week all seem fairly "eh." I might check out The Warrior if it plays around here and maybe I'll see Stealth because Jessica Biel wears a bikini. Otherwise, not much going on here.

Eh is good, I perfer :barf: but I'm a cynic

That and everytime I see a commericial for Stealth I just have to shake my head. Its like when Rachel Hunter was on Dancing With the Stars. I left the room feeling just very odd

I've heard good things about the Devils Rejects, but then it was from the guys at work and I'm older than most of them (boy thats depressing) but the only ones out that I havent seen that I actually want to include that, War of the Worlds and the acid trip that is Willy Wonka

And I'm sure this will surprise some of you, but no, I dont want to see the Island

New Movies For August 5th

2046: This is an Asian film that is supposed to be, from what I've heard, --odd. I've heard only a few things about it, but writing, time travel and other things are supposed to be parts of it.

Bailey's Billion$" This is a limited release movie about a talking dog that inherits a fortune. Moving on--

Broken Flowers: Another limited release movie that I hope gets opened to a broader box office. It's a comedy with Bill Murray. What else do you need to know?

The Chumscrubber: You know, when I first read about this limited release movie, I mentally nixed the "h" and thought it was a low-grade porno, but it's actually supposed to be relatively Donnie Darko-ish in that it's just plain weird. Alternate realities, surreal characters, etc.

The Dukes of Hazzard: Meh.

Duma: Yet another limited release movie. It's a story about a boy who befriends a cheetah. Much like several other movies that you've probably seen in your time.

My Date With Drew: A docu-movie, this was made with $1,100 dollars. That alone should make it interesting. It's about a man trying to track down and talk with Drew Barrymore. Plus, it has Eric Roberts in it!! Eric Roberts!

Saint Ralph: Movie about a 9th grade boy who trains for the Boston Marathon with the hopes that his winning would be enough of a miracle to help his sick mother.

Secuestro Express: Movie involving the ever-growing problem of the Latin kidnappings that are becoming more prevalent. It's about a young couple captured by some thugs hopeing ot ransom them to their wealthy parents.

This Divided State: Another documentary talking about the backlash that happened when that Utah Valley State College invited Michael Moore to speak at their graduation.

Man, not much coming out in wide release this week. :-?
