Maybe they always did this and I was too young to notice, but why is it that a season premier will happen, they'll air like 5 new eps and then do reruns for 2 months then start up with new episodes. Rinse repeat.

Is this happening to prolong the season and keep viewers tuning in each week hoping for a new show?

I'm curious if anyone has a take on this.
