No. It was a conclusive conclusion in a Benoit thread a long while back.
People like saying that Benoit is God of Pro Wrestling or some such nonsense. Why? He can wrestle in a technical fashion! He can brawl! He can go to the top! He looks vicious! He innovates!
Yeah, he can wrestle in a technical fashion. Many other people can just as well as Benoit (and hell, even RvD has show that with a solid worker he can put on clinics).
I've never really seen Benoit brawl to my contentment. I'm not asking for a deathmatch or something, but a Pier Sixer? I just haven't seen that from him.
He can go to the top. He's also short. Short people like doing that. What about the bigger guys who go to the top?
Um, a lot of people look vicious in the ring.
Innovate? I've seen a match between Benoit and Eddy in Japan that's practically a Dynamite Kid-Tiger Mask match. Sequences, transitions, psychology...
And you need something else to really be in command of pro wrestling. Charisma. Outside of Benoit Okie blowing on people, I've never really seen him as too charismatic.
Now, you have Perry Saturn.
He can technically wrestle. In fact, he's often overlooked as a technician, but he is one, from throwing suplexes to working body parts to keeping things on the mat.
Oh hell yeah he can brawl. Not only that, but he can mix in cool martial arts type strikes. Neat!
Going to the top? Saturn can do that, from huge legdrops, moonsaults and Saturn-saults to springboard lariats, Saturn can definately wrestle in the vertical.
Vicious. Check.
Innovate? This man is responsible for spot tag team wrestling with John Kronus (and certainly help from the Dudleys). Any tag team spotfest you've seen probably has a lot to do with how the Eliminators wrestled, including the Hardys-E&C matches that got them over huge.
And if you even have to ask about Saturn having Chairsma....he got Moppy over. Shouldn't that be enough?
