 Boards of Canada- So, i was listening to a live 365 station from hamburg germany and came across a group called the boards of canada. Let me tell you, these guys are awesome, and I would classify them as downbeat/ambient.
I highly suggest the song 1969 off the album Geogaddi.
along this same vein of thought, I would recommend Robert Randolph, a genius on the slide guitar. Normally, that is twangy country for me, but not this guy. Think 70's soul music, john lee hooker, and some bb king too... now go download I need more love, and feel right about the world.
