 Mechs at its Best Readin through a gamer megazine i find a game that, apparently, has been around for some time. Steel Battalion for the xbox. Sold origonally for 180 bucks (yikes) it came with a 40 button controller made specially for the game. An xbox live only game. No offline play whatsoever. Players can build and customize huge Mechs that they will pilot in death match areas. The options and combinations of weapons and parts are nearly endless. Why have i never heard of this game?!
Steel Battalion 2: Line of Contact shall be coming out soon as well. The pictures along with the preview looked steller. It is said to have a small offline arena for those to train with that aren't ready for the grueling matches of player vs player action. 8 vs 8 teams of mechs, i want this game so bad. Has anyone else heard of this game or better yet, played it?
Anyplace i found that had anything to say on this game all had the same summary. "It is the most realistic simulator of all time!" buildings and ground alike geomod accord to explosions that go off nearby.
Again... i want it.

Um. Steel Battalion was released WAY before Live came out. The sequel is supposed to be for Live.

REALLY Then the megazine i read from is full of shit. It said it was an online only game.

That magazine is full of shit then. The sequel is supposed to be online...and man, you probably haven't heard of it because what retailer would actually sell a game where you're paying 200 bucks just for a controller? I know I've never seen it, though it would be awesome. I mean, it has a little plastic cover you have to flip up over the self destruct button!
But yeah, the first one had a campaign mode, not sure about the second one...
