The real good thing about local comic book stores though, is that if you want to KNOW something about comics you go talk to the guy in the shop. Wikipedia doesn't always tell you which issue such and such happened, but he will. AND!!! He'll talk to you for hours and not really care if you buy something or not. They might sort of care, but not on the same level as other store clerks.

So I'm reading fark and the headline is "Hugh Jackman emails Harry Knowles to reassure him that "Wolverine" will be badass"

And I wonder, who is Harry Knowles? Maybe he's the creator, I'll double check. So I look up Wolverine's wiki and learn no, so I wiki Harry knowles and see he's a critic for Aint It Cool News. There's a picture of him on the wiki. My first impression of this picture is that Harry Knowles is a human form of Mojo.




edit: To Google Image Search him, none of the other pictures are as bad as the above, but still.....that's just eerie.

I have Verizon DSL and the router keeps dumping my connection (seen in Optimism Boy thread), so I want FIOS or Comcast cable internet. I would like to spend as little as possible, which goes against both company's sales design.

It is easy to upgrade to 20Mb/s just by asking and they charge $10 more a month, which is sort of enticing too.
They also have to undo the copper from the pole to the house, and I'll want to sell this place in the next few years. No idea if impacts a buyer's mentality.

So up front Comcast is a better deal by faster speeds and a better cost. However, after a year, I think the price will go up. I think I get the no fees through Verizon because they want me off of DSL, if I took a year with Comcast then over to Verizon, I'd probably pay some of those above fees.

Please anyone weigh in on this, from a service and cost point of view.

PS. in the time it took for me to make this post, I've lost internet connection twice.

If you're planning to sell, I'd go with Comcast.

Plus, with any of these companies, once the price does go up, just find a better deal somewhere else, call your current provider and ask them if they can cut you a deal because you don't want to quit them, but it's too good a deal to pass up. If that doesn't work, tell them you want to cancel and the next person on the phone will probably give you the deal.

So I'm watching Season 5 of 24 last night and I think I have made the greatest realization in the history of man.

Watching 24 is like watching a Peter Griffin / Chicken fight.
