So anyway, I hate to go off-topic now... but this morning was a whole lot more encouraging. I applied to my local HMV, handing over the paperwork to the seemingly enthused member of staff (long hair, goatee, metalhead) and I got a warm response of..
"Nice one, mate! Cheers... I'll pass it on!"
They need DVD and game specialists, and I'm their man. Glad I wore the flannel zombie head 'Dawn' shirt out today. That can't have done a guy any harm amongst a staff consisting primarily of nostalgia-happy post graduate types.
So I get back to the train station and I get a call from the guy at another agency (been waiting...) and he's pretty darn confident he's found the job for me - just so happens to be that it's invoicing - second nature to a guy with goods-in managerial experience. Not bad, I gotta say.
Fingers crossed and all that.

yeah well, it doesn't really matter, I'd be lucky if they rang me back at all; I was applying for a job with children when I have no experience with working with kids, except the odd babysitting session.
