Ever.
Of any era.
The Doctor's ruthlessness has never been shown to the same degree of brutality as it was tonight. Locking someone inside a mirror for eternity is about as bad as it can get. All that stuff about running away from the Family to protect them from himself was pretty strong.
Some heartbreaking stuff in there what with the painful sacrifice of poor John Smith - this was gripping. I was in tears at several points, especially at the Memorial Day scene at the end with Tim still clutching the Doctor's watch. Damn poignant and touching.
