Post BMW Hillside Poker Classic Report -- 1/30/2005 to 1/31/2005
I lasted 45 minutes. :bmw:

Here is my report...some of the cards may be off....the meaning is there....

Made one huge mistake playing A5s for 250 chips, and when flop came 23K....some guy goes all in. I am drawing to the Wheel...but some joker prolly has a set of Deuces or AK...so I dump it. Chip count 1250.

Lost a hand when high pair Jacks got pipped by a Nine....I had the Eight. Chip count 1000(after one round of blinds...approximately)...

Middle of round two....I get K5s. It is 50 to go....so I call one off the SB. About 6 callers. Flop comes K53....I could be mistaken on the last card...it was definately lower than the 5 tho...check around to me...I bet 200. One guy sits for like 90 seconds....and calls....everybody else drops. Turn is a Ten. I put the guy on AK and I go all in. He immediately calls, and shows KTo. Mikey is out.

It was a Seneca Tournament regular by the name of Reg....red hair, polo shirt....he's Canadian I believe. Nice guy.

I dunno if I misplayed it or not...but I had fun nonetheless. The outside of that Casino looks like a barn. I was wondering when the Cow Expo was starting... The tables were spread out all over the Casino....the poker room, the buffet, in the halls....

They had an alternate list, and ran a second tournament after the outer tables broke down....I guess like almost 300 got into that one. They told me it was a three hour wait for a cash table...so I too went back to Niagara....if I'm gonna wait...I might as well get back to civilization. Modest win playing 3/6 of about 75 bucks(don't laugh....3/6 is my game ), and I had a great time!

Spent most of the day Monday playing in Niagara Falls as well...if you can get up....there is money to be made from the Canadian dealers at 7AM....trust me. I was up 200 bucks in the first 2 hours playing 2/4. I can just imagine what was going on at the 1/2 NL table. At 10AM I played that "I Survived" tournament, and won almost 600 bucks coming in 3rd place. That tournament is NERVEWRACKING....when it gets to the "live chips"....with the blind doubling each round....if you got 300 bucks left, and the blinds are approaching 60/60....when we were down to 3 players....me being the short stack asked if they wanted to kick it in, and chop the remainder...to my surprise they said yes. So I kept my 350 in front of me, and got another couple hundred from the prize pool.

I sat back down at 3/6 and won another 200 bucks after that.

So...even though I donkified the Hillside Classic....between the other tourney and the 3/6 action...I still had a good weekend!

Dealers in Salamanca are slow....they miscall bets....they flip cards....they need just a little more practice. They are, however, the nicest people, and friendly too. I'll take that any day.
